NY—LON, UAL / Shawn Carter Foundation (Jay-Z)

work |
July 25th, 2018

Alongside Lawrence Lartey I helped create a brief, then work with students both in the UK and New York in a collaboration between UAL and the Shawn Carter Foundation (Jay-Z).

The NY—LON cultural exchange was an opportunity for students from across UAL to collaborate with students from New York and the Shawn Carter Foundation. We worked with a brief from the Ford Motor Company and the students had free reign to develop a project that engaged with the brand. Over the course of the project experts from a variety of companies came to speak to the students in LCC, helping them to Read more…

Kubrick's Lost Prologue, Beyond 2001

work |
January 18th, 2018

Craig Burston and myself were asked by Patrick McGrady to create a concept for a film that visualised an interview Kubrick made with a scientist for his film 2001.

The project was inspired by the unseen documentary prologue that Kubrick planned to include in his final cut of 2001.  He shot interviews with around 20 leading scientists, philosophers, theologians and astronomers and cut these into a short (6 – 7 minute) prologue that he intended to include at the beginning of the film. The interviewees talked about some of the central themes and ideas explored in the film, such as the Read more…

June 27th, 2017

Make/Shift is this year’s collaborative project between musicians from the Guildhall School and design students on the MA Graphic Communication Design programme at Central Saint Martins, UAL. The project is run by the MAP-making collective.

I lead the LAB weekend, beginning with a lecture, then facilitating a two day workshop. A series of exercises and experimentation helped design and music students investigate different ways of creating together. I helped with the final show design, both in terms of its conceptual layout and build.

The project is run by the MAP/ Read more…

MuirMcNeil clock for TypeCon2016 in Seattle, WA

work |
August 24th, 2016

MuirMcNeil wanted an application that would run full screen on a desktop computer for TypeCon2016 in Seattle. The application used TwoLine & TwoPoint font faces to display a clock. Any keypress randomises the fonts.

The application was given away on the festival website, the video was also made for the conference at which MuirMcNeil spoke.

BMW / Sky Arts

work |
May 27th, 2014

Working with the directors Bison I created a set at Three Mills Studios that incorporated the new BMW 4 Series into a 35 metre long rainbow as part of a indent for Sky Arts.

The artwork Everything we are capable of seeing was the impetus for this new reworking of the concept:

My role in the Bison project involved taking this concept and expanding it to a huge size, then using 3d modelling and on set direction the set was built, cameras and lighting were placed in order to create the final effect.
